In the precooler and evaporator, the condensate is precipitated in two ways:

1. The water vapor and oil vapor directly in contact with the low-temperature solid surface (such as the outer surface of the heat exchange tube, the surface of the heat dissipation fin, etc.) directly condense and condense (similar to the natural surface condensation process)

2. The water vapor and oil vapor that are not in direct contact with the solid surface are condensed and precipitated with the solid impurities carried by the airflow itself as "condensation nuclei" (similar to the formation of clouds and rain in nature). Because the solid dust particles carried by the compressed air play the role of "condensation nucleus" in the process of condensate formation, some people say that the formation of condensate in the refrigeration dryer is a "self-purification" process of compressed air. The initial particle size of the condensed droplets depends on the size of the "condensation nuclei".

Under normal circumstances, the particle size of solid impurities contained in the compressed air entering the dryer is generally about 2 μm, so the initial particle size of the condensed droplets is not large.
